Disneyland Drive

West Street, from I5 to Katella Ave., is to be landscaped and renamed Disneyland Drive. The concept is to make it into a resort-style boulevard. Similarly, though on the east side of the Park, Freedman way (which extends east from the main entrance) is to be changed to Disney Way.

A small amount of the current parking area will be preserved, but most of the parking will be across Disneyland Drive, south of the Disneyland Pacific Hotel (already in use as the Simba lot) and also north of the Disneyland Hotel, where the strawberry fields and Vacationland used to reside, currently called the Pinocchio lot. In the northern part of the latter area, a parking structure is being erected to lessen the area required to support parking. Employee parking has been moved to southeast of the Park, across Katella and Harbor.

An exit is in construction from the I5 that goes directly (via Disneyland Drive) to the new parking areas. Disney Way is also to lead directly to freeway access. Between the two of them, the increase in traffic is supposed to be minimized on the rest of the surface streets in the area.
