Disney's California Adventure

Imagine California taken as The Good Bits Version. Toss in the good, clean fun, attention to detail, and moneymaking ability that is Disney and you'll have a pretty good idea of what Disney's California Adventure is about. The new theme park will involve everything from Hollywood to Half Dome, from the Gold Rush to the Boardwalks. Everything that people fantasize about California (with the possible exception of its falling into the Pacific) will be represented there. Note that this weights the attractions to that which is represented by Southern California.

As I uncover news about what will be included in Disney's California Adventure, I'll include it here.

The only attraction I've heard any news about is a ride involving a geyser, and I'm not sure if it will make it to the final version of the park. According to one source, guests will ride ore cars into some natural-looking caverns, where Rainbow Caverns will be recreated (note that part of what was Rainbow Caverns now resides in Big Thunder Mountain, near where it originally was). At some point, most likely near the end, the train will stall right over a geyser, which propels it into the air - it's like the Tower of Terror ride, but in reverse. The train stops just below the cave ceiling and drops back to the tracks. The project's tenative name is Geyser Mountain, although "Old Unfaithful" is also being considered.

One thing that might be part of the park, though designers would prefer otherwise, is the high-tension wires that traversed the original parking lot. Word is that putting them underground would cost too much, so they are going to have to leave them above ground, instead routing them around the edge of the new park.
