CircleVision 360
The CircleVision 360 Theater will be a preshow for the Rocket Rods, the first music video shot in CircleVision 360. The source says, "It'll be content driven versus performer driven, so don't expect stars." The loading concept for the Rods will be like the Haunted Mansion, in that a certain number of guests go into the theater, then follow a queue after the preshow, and finally board the vehicles.
A tunnel under Tomorrowland will lead from the CircleVision Building to the Rocket Rods tower, thus removing at least part of the line from traffic interference. There, you'll board the vehicles. The cars will load 5 people, and be virtually see-through. Even the floor will be grating, so the track below can be seen. There is no simulation technology used to replace the "speed tunnel". It's just a speed-thrill ride, and it will indeed be very, very fast, slowing only to pass through buildings (such as the passage behind Star Trader). According to the source, "You'll load the vehicles, a dragstrip-style red-red-green light will cycle, and you'll take off with a wheelie. Yes, a wheelie." The head Imagineer for the project says that the speed and acceleration is done by the same technology as the Test Track in Florida, a high-torque electronic motor that can reach incredible speeds in incredible time.
